The Peopleoo Playbook

Welcome to Peopleoo — the space where caring folk (and folk who care about caring folk) come together. To keep it all ticking along nicely, here’s our Playbook.

It’s not pages of small print, just a few simple “dos and don’ts” so that everyone feels comfy, safe, and glad to be here.

Key Points

A few gentle ground rules to keep Peopleoo on point.

Be Kind (obviously)

We’re all here because caring is what we do. So let’s keep it kind, light, and respectful. No rudeness, no digs, no keyboard-warrior nonsense.

Listen Up

Got something to say? Great. But remember to listen, too. Sometimes people just want to be heard, not fixed.

No Funny Business

Scams, spam, or trying to sell dodgy gear? Not here, thanks. We’ve all seen enough of that on the internet.

Keep It Real

Share your own stories, your own tips, your own wins and wobbles. Pretending to be someone you’re not is a no-no.

Caring, Not Dating or Selling

Peopleoo is about community, not finding your soulmate. So no chat-up lines or sales pitches, please. Save that for elsewhere.

Safe & Sound

We’ve built features to help keep things safe (because caring doesn’t stop at the front door). But do use your common sense — if something feels off, it probably is. Hit the report button and we’ll sort it.

Celebrate the Small Stuff

Whether it’s managing a tricky morning, sharing a cuppa with someone you care for, or just making it through a long day — post it, share it, cheer each other on.

Remember Why We’re Here

Peopleoo is about support, laughs, swapping ideas, and giving each other a little boost. It’s not about politics, pile-ons, or point scoring.

⚡ In Short

Be decent. Be yourself. Be part of the caring crew.

That way, Peopleoo stays the pocket of joy it’s meant to be.

Peopleoo Playbook

Peopleoo is a space for everyone to share their own care journey, but we do ask that you respect and follow this Playbook (together with our Terms of Use) to allow all Peopleoo users to have a safe and enjoyable experience and we can work collaboratively to highlight the great work that’s happening daily.

If your content breaches our Playbook, you may lose access to Peopleoo.

Thank you for joining us on this journey!

Do’s

Be Kind & Real

This is your space to connect, share, and be part of a community built on trust and kindness. Listen, respect different opinions, and remember: care looks different for everyone, but it always matters.

Inclusivity

Peopleoo is for everyone who cares, in every shape and form. Whether you’re in permanent employment as a carer, leading as a senior manager or CEO, working as a social worker, or simply popping in to check on your neighbour each day alongside your IT job — you belong here.

We welcome paid and unpaid carers alike, as well as the people who are supported by them. Because a little bit of care goes a long way, and every voice in the caring journey matters.

Champion & Share the Moments

At Peopleoo, we’re here to champion all carers — paid or unpaid — and shine a light on the special moments of care that often go unseen.

Maybe you watched your mum doing an amazing job with your disabled nephew she cares for full time. Or perhaps a friend went the extra mile to support someone in need. These moments matter.

Let’s change the conversation and celebrate the amazing everyday care we see. Leave a Special Mention, spread some positivity, and let carers know just how valued they are.

Meaningful Connections

At Peopleoo, we’re on a mission to build better networks, integration, and community in care.

That means paying it forward by sharing your lived experience and expertise. It means listening to others, helping people reflect and learn, and giving newcomers a warm welcome.

When we connect through shared experiences, we remind each other we’re not alone. Together, we can keep care — and carers — alive, kicking, and resilient.

Don’ts

Fake/Biased Special Mentions

Although we want to hear your stories, we do have to check if it’s accurate! We will not allow false special mentions on to the Peopleoo platform. If we believe it to be fictitious, we will have to remove it. The same goes for biased reviews, whether positive or negative we cannot allow for a biased picture to be painted for any community member, it has to be real, nobody likes a fibber.

Misinformation

We encourage respectful conversations about meaningful subjects. However, we don’t permit content that is inaccurate, false and causes harm to our community.

Plagiarism/Copyright/Trademark Infringement

Peopleoo is meant to be a safe space where carers can share best practice across a peer network. We know many of you are just trying to get care and regulation right — so share away, because when we share, everyone wins.

That said, make sure you’ve got the right permission before posting, and always give credit where it’s due. Content that infringes on someone else’s intellectual property rights without credit isn’t allowed.

Hateful behaviour

We have a zero-tolerance policy for any content that contains hate speech. This includes (but is not limited to) content that attacks, threatens, incites violence against, or otherwise dehumanises an individual or group across:

  • Race
  • Ethnicity
  • Religion
  • Sexual orientation
  • Disability
  • Gender identity
  • Age
  • Socioeconomic status

Harassment & Bullying

There’s no room for shaming, bullying, or harassing on Peopleoo — full stop.

This covers all sorts of behaviour, including:

  • Threats or intimidation
  • Sharing someone’s personal details without consent
  • Sending unwanted or inappropriate notifications, special mentions or messages (including sexual harassment)
  • Screenshotting or sharing content without permission

We’re here to support and uplift each other, not tear anyone down.

False Reporting

Reporting bad behaviour helps keep Peopleoo safe for everyone. But the reporting tool isn’t a toy — so please don’t misuse it. We won’t tolerate intentional or repeated false reports, especially if it’s just to get back at someone after a disagreement.

Harmful & Sexual Activities

We care deeply about the wellbeing of our community. That means absolutely no content that causes or encourages harm to vulnerable adults or children.

We also don’t tolerate:

  • Any form of abuse, harm, or exploitation
  • Nudity or pornography
  • Sexually explicit content or sexual solicitation

That said — we understand that caring often involves supporting people with complex needs. Some discussions may touch on sensitive subjects, and that’s okay. We’ll always be mindful about the context of care when reviewing content.

Peopleoo is about care, connection, and community — and that only works when everyone is safe.

Illegal Activities

Criminal activities cover a wide range of acts punishable by law, including theft, exploitation, and other harmful behaviour. To prevent such behaviour from being facilitated, we may remove content relating to criminal activities.

If you ever have concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a vulnerable person, please raise it — Peopleoo is a safe space, and protecting those at risk comes first.

Advertising & Fundraising

Peopleoo is, in general, a safe space free from members advertising or selling their own products or services, and from fundraising. That means no selling, no side hustles, and no money requests popping up in your feed.

The only exception? If you’re in a Peopleoo group that’s been set up specifically for that purpose — then crack on.

Outside of those spaces, please avoid:

  • Buying or selling items
  • Promoting wish lists, “gifting” sites, or anything similar
  • Requests for payment or linking to payment websites
  • Appeals for financial aid (including Cash App, GoFundMe and the like)
  • Posts raising money on behalf of other individuals
  • Promoting social media accounts just to recruit or sell

We want Peopleoo to feel like a cuppa with mates, not like being cornered at a car boot sale.

Private Information

Here at Peopleoo we respect everyone’s privacy. To do this, we need you to respect it too! We politely ask for you NOT to include any sensitive information such as full names, dates of birth, phone numbers, home addresses, email addresses and anything else that can be used to identify a specific individual or business. This is confidential information, and we want to protect you and others from any unwanted contact. We really appreciate your cooperation, it’ll be better for everyone!

Impersonation

Only upload photos that are yours. We take authenticity really seriously and everyone in the community must have a selfie-verified profile.

Your User Account

Your account and profile is yours. Duplicate and shared accounts aren’t permitted.

Posts and activity will be monitored at Peopleoo HQ. Removing accounts/posts is not something we want to do, so stick to the rules and we’ll all have the best time!

Editing/Deleting Messages

Oops! Made a mistake? Don’t worry, you can edit your message! We all have accidents, typos and sometimes we change our minds. That’s fine, just edit your message to say what you wanted it to say. Or, you can delete the message completely if you’d prefer not to post.

If you spot any content that breaches our Playbook, please report it.
