FAQ

  • Why did you build Peopleoo?

We built Peopleoo because caring can feel lonely — even though so many of us do it. Whether you’re a paid carer, supporting a loved one, or someone who just helps others out, we wanted to create a space where caring people can connect, feel recognised, and know they’re not on their own.

  • What does Peopleoo do?

Peopleoo is a place to connect, share, and be recognised. You can:

+ Meet others who get what caring is really like.

+ Share stories and moments that matter.

+ Celebrate the everyday wins (even the small ones).

+ Build your caring career profile

+ Join a community that’s kind, supportive, and full of lived experience.

+ It’s like a social space built for caring people.

  • What does it cost?

Nothing! Peopleoo is free to join and use — we built it to support the people who support everyone else.

  • If it’s free, how do you make money?

Good question! Our mission has always been to give something back to the health and social care world — a space that often gives so much and receives so little in return. We we made a commitment to keep Peopleoo free and accessible for everyone.

To keep growing and improving, we’re working on some optional enhanced features that may come with a small subscription in future, but the heart of Peopleoo will always stay free to use.

  • Can family members join?

Yes! Peopleoo is for anyone who’s involved in care — whether that’s looking after a parent, partner, friend, or neighbour. If you care, you belong here.

  • Can people who are cared for join?

Yes, definitely! Peopleoo isn’t just for those who give care — it’s also for those who receive it. Everyone’s experience matters. Joining Peopleoo is a way to have your say, share what care feels like for you, and feel more in control of your own care journey. It’s your space too

  • Is Peopleoo for adults only?

Yes — Peopleoo is currently designed for people aged 18 and over.
We know that young carers are dealing with complex and sensitive things too, and they deserve their own safe spaces. We’re already working on ways to support people under 18 in the future, so they can connect and be recognised safely too.

  • How do you keep Peopleoo safe and positive?

We do a few things to make sure Peopleoo stays a kind and respectful space:

There’s a report button if you ever see or experience something that doesn’t feel right.

Our human moderators understand the care world and keep an eye on things in accordance with the Peopleoo Playbook

  • How do you stop Peopleoo from becoming toxic?

We’re not here to tell people what to think or how to say it — everyone’s voice matters, in whatever shape or size it comes. But we do have a Peopleoo Playbook and a report button, and if something crosses the line, we deal with it. Simple.

We know toxic behaviour exists online, but Peopleoo is built differently. It’s a space that values respect, honesty, and kindness, where real conversations can happen safely — without things spiralling like they sometimes do in Facebook or WhatsApp groups.
